The world has recently witnessed rapid developments and
successive changes in the international dynamics of foreign
trade relations, leading to a core adjustment in the

formalities, eliminating bureaucracy, vitalizing markets,
encouraging and developing local industries, promoting
Egyptian exports and boosting their competitive edge to
enable them to access European, Asian, and other markets
through the optimal use of the privileges offered by trade
agreements, capitalizing on the available opportunities in
the emerging African market as regards fulfilling its needs
of the Egyptian exports as well as consolidating linkage
and integration with the Arab markets in pursuance of the
common Arab market.

Ministry of Foreign Trade, which ran parallel with
implementing the economic reform programs in the area of
liberalizing foreign trade, has emphasized the need to speed
up efforts to this effect through the continued assessment
and revision of trade rules and regulations to be able to
keep in touch with the spirit of the time while enhancing
transparency and flexibility with regard to the import and
export regulations and eliminating any obstacles that may
hinder the emerging Egyptian development process.

GOEIC works closely with the sectors of the Ministry of
Foreign Trade as a cooperative entity whose primary and main
objective is to facilitate the movement of trade, encourage
Egyptian industries, develop exports of all types, and boost
