The Egyptian International Trade
Point (EITP) established at 1994 according to Untied Nation
Conference Trade and Development (UNCTAD), became a member
of the World Trade Point Federation (WTPF) in 2000. Due to
the was tremendous achievements in developing electronic
services in trade, EITP selected as a one of the best five
trade point in world.
The WTPF established in Geneva, Switzerland according to
Swiss law forming a network for more the 100 trade point
exists in 92 member countries to grow out of an innovative
programme of UNCTAD through trade information and
facilitation centers known as trade points. It is the
objective is to support and develop operational activities
of trade point members in the world through the regional
forum representatives in steering committee, where members
meet annually to discuss and decide of present and future
integrated plans of mandatory services of trade points. In
addition, the WTPF assists Small and Medium Enterprise (SME's)
to trade internationally through the use of electronic
commerce technologies.
The regional forum is an informal multilateral coordination
for members in one geographic region to cooperate within the
WTPF frame-work, Its objectives are to foster linkage with
WTPF through elected members in the steering committee,
execute work plans of WTPF, and promote confidence building
of information exchange in the region. The regional forum
seeks the development of new value added services to enable
members to better serve their clients. In addition, it
encourages and facilitates mutual sharing of experience
among trade points in the regional forum.
